Mega Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUPs)Find out more about the services we offer below.
Welcome to our new service of Mega stand up paddle board (SUPs) hire in Ironbridge Gorge! If you are looking for a fun filled adventure under your own steam then this is the activity for you. Our Mega SUPs fit between 6-8 people and are modeled on the single SUP that has grown in popularity around the UK. You can hire these just like you would a canoe or kayak on our full day river Severn Atcham to Ironbridge route finishing by our little green kiosk in the Wharfage car park (TF8 7NH).
These are great for corporate trips, friends and families or a good old stag or hen do.
You have an all day experience paddling through the beautiful Shropshire countryside. We even throw in a mega sized dry bag for your picnic along the way to store food and equipment includes paddles, helmets and the option of wetsuits if required. If you do require a wetsuit we have public toilet facilities in the Wharfage car park where we are based. Please arrive early for a fitting and to change. Please note that we cannot guarantee a wetsuit in your size so please bring your own where possible or appropriate shorts and wet gear with sensible shoes for the river.
You can park for the full day in Dale End car park (TF8 7BS) and we are then a 2 minute walk to the Wharfage car park (TF8 7NH) where we meet at 8.50am. We then fit you with a buoyancy aid, helmet, wetsuit (optional) and SUP paddle and finish off the paperwork stating you have paddled before. After a short 15 minute trip in our minibus you are on the water for your full day on the river Severn. Take in the gorgeous sites along the way and enjoy the beautiful wildlife of the kingfishers, wagtails, swans and deer to experience an idyllic trip returning to Ironbridge by 5pm. There are plenty of pebble beaches along the way as you pass by Cressage and Buildwas on your 15 mile trip.
Take time to enjoy your picnic so pack plenty of sandwiches and cold drinks!
Mega SUPs can be hired with a minimum of 5 people. Full terms and conditions can be seen below and also on the reservation form by clicking on BOOK HERE at the top of the page. Minimum age is 18 as we do not allow any whitewater rapids to be run on the Mega SUPs.

Health and Safety guidelines, rules and regulations
The safety and enjoyment of your trip are dependent on both river and weather on your chosen trip day. We will not allow any trips to proceed when severe conditions are occurring or expected. Heavy rainfall over the days leading up to your trip date affects the river levels especially rainfall over the Welsh mountains some two days before departure. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions relating to your Mega SUP, other equipment and the River Severn. If you or any of your party have any health issues, this should be discussed first and us made aware of these conditions. In certain circumstances we may discourage you from taking part in the event. Anyone with a history of epilepsy should not participate in this activity. Maximum weight per Mega SUP is 100 stone. These are for adults only. Minimum age to hire is 18.
No fishing is allowed. Please arrive 10 minutes before your allocated launch/transport time, allowing time to be kitted out with buoyancy aids, helmets and paddles, fill out the hire agreement and receive your health and safety briefing. If you are late, unfortunately we may have to leave without you, meaning your trip may have to be cancelled or re-scheduled.
Buoyancy Aids and helmets must be worn at all times whilst you are paddling the Mega SUP. Please when leaving the river take all your belongings, buoyancy aids, helmets and paddles as these are your responsibility and you will be charged for in full if lost or stolen.
Guided tours: At certain times and by prior arrangement, we can provide a river guide to accompany your trip. Please note this service is only available by prior arrangement, and not at the time of your arrival.
