Welcome to our High water winter trips! We usually run our 25ft scenic boat trips for all ages throughout the season but sometimes come up against higher water that prevents us from motoring the boats upstream. Our policy in the past is to close until the river behaves. Now we can continue to run but this time on our customised 17ft raft. That way we do not have the disappointment of cancelling the trip the day before and people get to access the river with a capable guide rowing you downstream. The trip runs on the same stretch of river but we steer the extra course through Jackfield rapids and then finish round the corner at the Half Moon Pub. Prices for these trips can be found on our Scenic Tours page (please note these bookings are subject to a minimum of £50).
For a more personal trip family and friends can book a 10ft mini-raft high water experience. A maximum of 4 people (plus your guide) will paddle fast moving currents, through the Jackfield rapids, finishing round the corner at the Half Moon Pub. (Subject to availability). These private guided boat tours cost £60 per trip.
Both trips run for the same length of time with 1 hour on the water. Both trips have a minimum age of 4 years due to us running a very easy class 2 rapid at Jackfield. At the end of the trip we shuttle you back up to where you are parked at the Wharfage car park.
NOTE: Group trip dates are available anytime of the season on request but a minimum of 10 seats will need to be booked for a trip to go ahead.
Welcome to our full day trips! We run scenic boat trips for ages 12 and above from Ironbridge to Bridgnorth throughout the season. Our trips start at 9.30am in Ironbridge floating through the birthplace of the industrial revolution and travel down the river Severn enjoying picturesque Shropshire with scenic countryside the whole way to Bridgnorth. At the end of out trips we enjoy a BBQ in Severn park, Bridgnorth with picnic tables and blankets. We cater for vegetarians or any other dietary requirement on request.
This is full day trip where you will be on the water between 4-5 hours. There are no stops along the way with toilet facilities provided before we set off and where we finish in Bridgnorth. The trip has a minimum age of 12 years due to us running a very easy class 2 rapid at Jackfield. We find children aged under 12 may lack patience to be on a boat for so long so try to avoid it for other passengers enjoyment.
The trip ventures through Ironbridge with all the character of this unique gorge and then onto the solace of Shropshire's rural areas where you can sit back and relax before arriving in Bridgnorth. Passengers are welcome to experience rowing the largest rafts in the U.K but in no way is it compulsory. We provide drinks along the way plus a choice of veggie or angus beef burgers at the end of the trip together with a selection of salad, side dishes and desserts plus hot and cold drinks in Severn Park, Bridgnorth. At the end of the day we will shuttle you back to Ironbridge by minibus.
NOTE: Group full day trip dates are available anytime of the season on request but a minimum of 12 adult seats will need to be booked for a trip to go ahead. We do not supply booze cruises so please do not expect a pub crawl along the way. Anyone under the influence of alcohol before the trip will not be able to participate and there will be no refunds.
