Scenic Float Tours

Covid-19 update: We are aiming to reopen our scenic float tours ready for 2021. However, please be aware that we are only able to take a maximum of 2 separate households/bubbles per trip so that social distancing can be maintained between each group. Additionally, our capacity will be in line with maximum group levels that the Government allow at the time. Due to these rules pre-booking is essential.

Join us on our scenic float tours on the River Severn in Ironbridge, Shropshire. Our 25 foot rafts are the largest in the UK and each hold 16 passengers. Best of all, as we don't run any whitewater rapids all ages are welcome. Therefore, our boat trips are great fun for the whole family. Our youngest participant so far was 6 weeks old and our oldest was 94 years young! Above all, your safety and enjoyment is our top priority!

The trip is 60 minutes on the water and is a perfect amount of time for families to enjoy the sites of Ironbridge and Jackfield. As well as doing all the hard work, your guide will provide a historical commentary as you float down river. See the first ever iron bridge built in 1779 and receiving World Heritage Status in 1986. Also look out for all the different wildlife along the way including kingfishers, otters, wagtails, swans and so much more.

In addition, we also provide canoe, kayak, mini-raft, mega SUP and cycle hire for those looking for an independent trip.

We run two tours each day at 12pm and 2pm. After departing the raft in Jackfield you are free to continue your day on foot. Enjoy a drink at the Black Swan or Half Moon Pub. Alternatively, take a stroll to the Maws Craft Centre or Jackfield Tile Museum.

The walk back into Ironbridge will take you approximately 15 minutes, passing by the Robin Hood Pub, Bedlam Furnace and the iron bridge.  Furthermore, there are lots of pubs, cafes and independent shops to visit in Ironbridge and Merrythought Village. Additionally we will also email you photographs of your trip at no extra cost.  Pre-booking is essential and groups should call in advance to discuss your requirements.

It should be noted that we do allow small well behaved dogs on the raft providing that other customers find this acceptable. However, if you wish to bring your dog, please call prior to your trip to discuss this.

Parking is available in the Wharfage car park (3 hour pay and display) where we are based. Additionally, there is a full day pay and display car park at Dale End which is just a 2 minute walk away.

Due to being in a Gorge the sat nav signals can occasionally send you to incorrect destinations. As a result please do not rely on your sat nav when driving in the area. Please follow signs to The Museum of the Gorge as we are based next door.
