How can I book?

You can book online using the following link or if you prefer you can call us on 01952 427150 and we will process the booking for you over the phone. Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your trip.

How can I pay?

We accept debit cards and most major credit cards.

How young can children be on self-hire boats?

For self-hire on our canoes, kayaks, mini-rafts and coracles children aged 4 and over can participate.  Any children under the age of 10 years must be accompanied by an adult on a one to one basis.

For self-hire on our mega SUP’s children aged 10 and over can participate.

The minimum hire age is 18 years old and an adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18.

What's the difference between a canoe and a kayak?

With a canoe you have a one bladed paddle and paddle on one side.

With a kayak you have a double bladed paddle and paddle on both sides.

Can I paddle on the river by myself?

For safety reasons you cannot paddle on the river by yourself. Therefore, to book single kayaks you will need a minimum of two people per booking.

What equipment do you supply?

We will provide the boat, paddle, buoyancy aid, dry bag and a free shuttle to the start point of your trip if required.  We also provide helmets on our mega SUP hire.

Where do we meet?

For hire of canoes, kayaks, mini-rafts and mega SUP’s please meet our staff in the Ironbridge Central/Station Yard long stay pay and display car park (TF8 7JP) where you can park your vehicle for £4 all day.  We will send you an email a few days before your booking with full details of where to meet, what time to meet and what to bring.

Please be aware that sat navs are notorious for sending you to wrong destinations in the Gorge so please do not follow your sat nav.  Follow signs to the Ironbridge Central/Station Yard car park which is located by the iron bridge.

Please check ahead for any road closures/road works that may affect your journey.

For coracle hire we will email you prior to your booking with details of the meeting point.  We recommend you park your vehicle at Bedlam Furnaces (currently free parking) which is only a 5 minute walk to the meeting point.  If you are unable to park at Bedlam Furnaces please park at one of the pay and display car parks located in Ironbridge.  The closest car park to the meeting point is at Ironbridge Central/Station Yard long stay pay and display car park (TF8 7JP).

What time should I arrive?

We will send you an email a few days prior to your trip with full details of the time to arrive.  We ask that you are prompt and do not arrive any later than the time stipulated. Due to other customers who require travel on our free shuttles, if you arrive late we will have to leave without you and you will miss your trip with no refund given.

Please check ahead for any road closures/road works that may affect your journey.

What should I wear?

Please dress appropriate for the weather on the day. Please wear quick drying outdoor clothing, leggings or fitness gear as you will want to be comfortable during your trip. Bring an appropriate rain jacket (just in case!) and do not wear jeans as they can become heavy and uncomfortable in wet weather.  Please also wear sensible shoes, i.e trainers and no wellington boots or flip flops.  In a sit-on-top kayak you will get your bottom half wet due to the drainage holes in them. Therefore, we recommend you bring a change of clothing for the end of your trip and a towel.

You may get your feet wet when launching on the 8½ mile mini-raft, mega SUP and canoe route so we recommend you wear old trainers you don’t mind getting wet or wet suit shoes.

What should I bring?

We recommend you bring a fully charged mobile phone, snacks and soft drinks. We cannot wait on the day for you to buy supplys so please plan ahead.  If the weather is hot please also bring suncream as the sun reflecting off the water can increase your chance of heat stroke and sunburn.  We recommend you do not bring expensive cameras or jewellery.

Can I bring alcohol?

No alcohol is allowed on any of our trips.

You will not be permitted to hire or participate in the event if you are found under the influence of alcohol or any other substances and we will not provide a refund in the event of cancellation.  Furthermore, you cannot take alcohol on the river and we have the right to confiscate it until you return. If you refuse to relinquish alcohol we will cancel the trip with no refund given, no questions asked!

Is there parking close by?

Please park in Ironbridge Central/Station Yard long stay pay and display car park (TF8 7JP) which costs £4 for full day parking where you will meet our staff.

If you have any questions about where to park for your activity please call us prior to your booking as we cannot wait for late arrivals on the day.

What facilities are there on site?

Public toilets are available on the High Street across the Iron Bridge from the Ironbridge Central/Station Yard car park, however, depending on your trip time these may not always be open early morning.  We therefore suggest you use the facilities at home before you leave!  Please also remember to bring your food and drink with you as we cannot wait for you to buy supplys on the day.

There are a number of cafes, pubs and independent shops within a short walking distance at the end of your trip.

Are dogs allowed?

You can bring your well behaved dog on our self-hire of canoes, kayaks and mini-rafts.  Dogs are not allowed on our mega SUP hire or coracle hire.  Please advise us in advance if you are considering bringing your dog.

Will my trip run in wet weather?

We run rain or shine so please dress appropriate for the weather on the day.  If we deem the weather and river conditions unsafe on the day we will contact you as soon as possible to advise you and we will reschedule your trip to another date.

Can you accommodate a group trip?

We have a number of boats available and can accommodate large groups so please call or email with your requirements in advance.

Can I buy a gift certificate?

You certainly can!  You can buy a gift certificate on our Gift Certificate page when our booking system is available (April to September).  In our low season (October to March) when our booking system is offline please email us at for details.

What is your cancellation policy?

To cancel hire of mini-raft, mega sup, canoe, kayak or coracle you will need 5 full working days before your booked trip time for a full refund (groups of under 10 people). For groups of 10 or more people you will need one full calendar month for a full refund.
