Shropshire Raft Tours were visited by the author Marie Kreft in 2015 and received a mention in her book, Slow Travel: Shropshire.
In 2016 BBC’s Escape to the Country paid us a visit with a couple looking to purchase a home in Shropshire. They enjoyed a trip down the River Severn on our large orange rafts. Jules Hudson presented this episode which is frequently repeated on the BBC.
This episode put Shropshire Raft Tours on the map with lots of customers still remembering the episode when they visit us.

In 2016 Ironbridge celebrated the 30th anniversay of the World Heritage Site status with a day of celebrations culminating in a river festival attended by 18,000 people. We took two orange rafts down river filled with a choir who entertained the spectators by torchlight.
Shropshire Raft Tours were awarded a Central England Prestige Award as winner of the Tour Company of the Year for 2020/2021.
In 2020 we hosted journalist Susan Ward-Davies from Good Housekeeping magazine who was writing an article on the attractions and amenities Shropshire has to offer. Susan took a trip on our mini-raft, paddling under the iron bridge. The article appeared in the February 2021 edition of the magazine.
Shropshire Raft Tours appeared in the Spring 2021 issue of the Totally Telford magazine. The article focused on stand up paddleboards and the rising popularity of the activity in the UK.
Shropshire Raft Tours welcomed Macca and Chloe to join us on a mini-raft trip in the Ironbridge Gorge in June 2021 which was featured in the article 14 Amazing Things to do in Shropshire and on their You Tube channel which you can watch here.
Journalist Rhiannon Batten visited Ironbridge with her two boys in March 2022 to try out our coracles on the River Severn. You can read the article on the Guardian.com here.
In May 2022 we filmed with Susan Calman for a segment on Channel 5’s Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out (Season 4, Episode 4, Shropshire Hills). Susan tried her hand paddling in our coracles and taking a trip under the iron bridge. You can view a short video clip on our YouTube channel here.
Shropshire Raft Tours appeared in the Metro Newspaper in July 2022 in a Going Out Special article featuring the best of back to nature activities.
In July 2022 we welcomed Tim, travel editor from the RAF News which is circulated to all RAF personnel. Tim enjoyed a paddle in our coracle and his Shropshire adventures appeared in the subsequent article.
In August 2022 we had a visit from writer Fiona Whitty and her family to paddle the River Severn in one of our family coracles. Fiona’s article on her Shropshire adventures appeared in the The Mirror and Daily Star.
Shropshire Raft Tours were awarded a Luxury Travel Guide Global award for the best boat tour operator in the West Midlands 2022/2023.

You Tube royalty Airrack and Tyler Blanchard, who have a combined total of over 15 million subscribers, tackled the river Severn on Big Bertha our Mega Stand up paddle board in 2023 in their quest to cross Europe in a straight line.
