Statement of Risk

Shropshire Raft Tours accepts its’ responsibility to make its’ activity hire as safe as is reasonably practicable. However, canoe, kayak, mini-raft and Mega SUP hire are inherently hazardous and cannot be completely risk free however hard we try. Accidents can happen without contributory negligence from the company or its staff. Shropshire Raft Tours can accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or personal injury not arising as a result of their own act or default.

If you are not confident on moving water in a canoe we recommend our mini-rafts which are much more stable. Flipping a canoe or kayak is possible so you must be confident in this situation, swimming yourself, the boat and equipment to the river bank where you can empty this out. Please be aware we are not with you on the river and whilst only a phone call away we cannot help you back into your boat.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic we have put extra measures in place to minimise risk of infection. This includes increased cleaning and sanitising of boats, helmets, buoyancy aids, paddles, dry bags and vehicles. We require staff to wear face masks where deemed necessary. We will retain customer ID in a sealed envelope for the duration of hire and handle this in a responsible manner at all times.  Hand sanitiser is available to all customers.

Parent/Guardian/Group Leader

As parent, guardian or group leader for children in your care on this trip, you have booked, you agree to participate in and accept the information in the ‘Statement of Risk’ and ‘Photograph Service’ above.

Medical Details

Please make us aware of any medical conditions, recent illnesses, allergies, surgery, pregnancy or other information of your family or group members.

If you refuse to relinquish alcohol we will cancel the trip with no refund or reschedule given.

Any dry bags we supply are not guaranteed to be waterproof. Therefore you should not rely on the dry bags we supply to keep your property dry and you accept you are taking your personal property onto the river at your own risk.
