I don’t have to travel too far for my Canoe hire fun. Yes, I live in Coalport, Ironbridge Gorge, and my passion is boating on my local river Severn. I’m a stones throw away from the river, however, I live in an apartment so have no room to store a boat 🙁 With this in mind I started looking for somewhere I could hire a boat near me.
I always used to get the boats mixed up with canoes and kayaks being the same thing in my mind. It wasn’t until I hired a sit on top kayak at Shropshire Raft Tours in Coalport that I learnt the difference.
The guy I hired from explained I was on a Perception Wavesport sit on top kayak and my appreciation was immediate on how comfortable they were. Due to the moulded keel it was easy to manoeuvre downstream and a breeze to carry with the moulded handles after I completed the trip.
Over the 7 mile course we took our time, finding we needed little effort to move the kayak along the River Severn.
